A large number of our customers do not deliver their products themselves to one of our platforms, but outsource this service to KTO as well. Moreover, the possibility exists to permanently place containers at our customers' premises, depending on the volume and frequency, and switch them later.
KTO stores part of the manufacturer's stock in its warehouse. Wall-to-wall carpet or vinyl is cut on demand and subsequently processed in the distribution network. The entire process is followed electronically, with an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) being set up with the manufacturer.
Big consignments, often delivered by containers, undergo a quality control at KTO, additional packing and labelling, after which they are brought in the KTO network.
A nice example is the logistics of samples and in-store material. The manufacturer produces or does the order picking at sku level, delivers unpackaged goods to KTO, who is further responsible for quality control, sorting and labelling by addressee.
A number of laminate and parquet manufacturers leave a large amount of their buffer stock in the care of KTO, who is entrusted with the order picking at box level. It also comes in handy that accessories are prepared and delivered a piece, together with the main product.
Thanks to her IT-daughter Transa/ASP, KTO is capable of automating logistic processes, which means a significant added value for KTO as well as her customers. A few examples are : exchanging tasks through EDI, deliveries being traceable through the Internet, lay out electronic invoices, periodic layout of a quality manual with enforced Key Performance Indicators, development of field-related bar codes, electronic term schedules.
